[attr="class","josie i"]beautiful, she muses quietly to herself. smoke billows in the distance - another fallen city crumbling into ashes, surely, but a work of art nonetheless.

they've driven a knife into this region, bleeding it dry with each taken position until all of it is splattered red with the bloody remains of war.

and from her perch on the steelix's head, she'd be wrong if she didn't say it felt damn good.

he'll find her here - an enemy surveying the destruction she's sowed, dried evidence staining skin. she'll see his approach just barely when her eyes drift, but it doesn't matter. they've won, haven't they? she, along with the rest, have made sure of that.

"don't you have injured to tend to?"

her steelix growls low.

"dead to bury?"

a heavy handed way to say fuck off, perhaps, but it gets the job done.

her expression cracks slightly from neutrality, purple eyes reflecting the destruction along the horizon.

"funny."

her, run? comical.

"you really think any of us would be afraid of you enough to run?"

they've already sent explosions along the foundation of the league, watching as the ground gives out beneath their precarious little feet and their bodies crumble into the aftermath.

"i ain't running, so show me how dedicated you are to stopping us."

she runs her tongue along the tips of her canines at the thought.

with the majority of his team depleted, the options that line his belt are limited at best. still, he finds one pokeball in particular, tapping it open with the palm of his hand to call out his poliwrath.[break][break]

the HYDRO PUMP it fires is immediate, aimed not at steelix but at josie cain. team rocket aren't the only ones willing to cross the line; to survive, they have to as well.[break][break]

a grin sprawls across his face and despite herself, she finds herself mirroring the action. it's a challenge, she surmises, and one she intends to pass with flying colors and sharpened teeth.

his poliwrath joins the field with a quick hydro pump arching through the air toward her. at the sight, she can't help the barked laughter as it claws through her throat. it echoes as her steelix lunges forward, her body shifting with the motion.

and while the hydro pump narrowly misses her, the mist of water splashes across her face enough for an amused, "refreshing," to escape.

"that all, hotshot?"

her steelix continues in its path, jaws open with a thunder fang aimed solely at the poliwrath. after a moment, when they're close enough, she leaps from its head to try and tackle him into the ground from the air... less girl, more bullet.

those that disassociated from the war are terrifying in their own regard. the mere fact that she hasn't heard of him, the matias silph who has held off wave after wave all to ensure the safety of the civilians, is worrisome. but he does not worry.[break][break]

baring his teeth, he readies himself for the impact, and as she dives down at him, a PSYCHIC slows her enough for him to swing a hook into her jaw to send her off course. this, naturally, leaves poliwrath open to the THUNDER FANG.[break][break]

the water-type struggles, clenched between THUNDER FANGS, but matias is free to advance.[break][break]

[attr="class","josie i"]his fist connects with her jaw as momentum drags to a slow crawl. psychic still clings to her body, its heavy handed manipulations digging nails into skin. the resulting crack is only mildly sickening.

and the hold releases within the span of another minute, giving way to gravity tugging her back and into the dirt.

she sucks in a breath, spits blood out in a splatter against rock and dirt, and begins to rise once more.

"not bad."

a hand rises to swipe at the rosy dribble escaping from one side of her mouth. he advances, still, and she would have nothing less.

"come," she murmurs, shifting her weight to ground herself in the wake of approach. "you have a war to wage."

her steelix presses its jaws further down, snarling around the poliwrath in its mouth. a little further it goes... for it seeks a casualty.
